About the Trail

What began as a passion project has evolved into something more. We’re proud of what we’ve started and even more excited for what’s ahead.

The Cape Cod Pottery Trail, now in it’s second year, is a self-guided tour of pottery studios on the Upper Cape. The event is unique in that it focuses on potters in maker spaces—many of which are not open to the public outside of this weekend. We invite you to enter these spaces, see where the objects are made, ask questions, and perhaps take a piece home.

The trail takes place on a lovely autumn weekend in late September. Map in hand, you’ll drive to various studios, enjoy snacks, and browse work. Along the trail you’ll get a dose of great energy, see a wide variety of work styles and a enjoy a community that supports this work.

The trail kicks off with a ticketed preview party Friday evening, then runs Saturday and Sunday. Closer to the trail weekend, our website will have downloadable maps of studio locations. The trail is free and open to all.

Making a weekend of it? Check out our other resources regarding places to stay, eat and shop.

I’m incredibly excited to be doing this with such a talented group of ceramic artists. This event has been a dream for many years, and an enormous amount of energy has gone into making it finally happen.
